Deidre Marshall, the Lead FIN Facilitator for Miami-Dade County, co-authored an article in the Fall issue of Florida Educational Leadership that supports the need for specific teacher preparation for inclusive education. Deidre and her colleagues surveyed almost 400 student teachers after they had completed seven hours of pre-service education on inclusion to determine changes in both practice and attitude. Their findings add more voices to the message of the importance of preparing teachers to meet the needs of students with disabilities in general education settings.
