The Partnerships Advancing Library Media (PALM) Center (formly I-Celtic), is a joint effort of the FSU College of Information, College of Education, and Learning Systems Institute, celebrated their official launching on June 19, 2008 at the FSU Research Foundation in Tallahassee. Over eighty Florida State University faculty and students were in attendance for the one day symposium on education technologies with the nationally and internationally recognized guest speakers:
Erin Reilly, Research Director for the New Media Literacies Project at MIT;
Dr. Bob Kozma, researcher with SRI International and advisor to numerous countries on the use of information and communication technologies in education through UNESCO; and
Dr. Ruth Small, director of a nationally ranked school media program and the Director of the Center for Digital Literacy at Syracuse University.
A panel discussion, moderated by former FSU President, Dr. Dale W. LIck, following the presentations gave all attendees a chance to interact with the distinguished speakers and other PALM Center affiliates. Please click on any of the link to view the presentations.
A dinner reception at the Florida State University Center Club was attended by the guest speakers and PALM Center facutly and student affiliates, offering an opportunity for one-on-one introductions and conversation.
