The Center for Research of Innovative Technologies for Learning (RITL) was founded in 2004 by Dr. Amy L. Baylor to facilitate interdisciplinary research in the areas of instructional technology, human-computer interaction, communications, computer science, and psychology.
The primary goals of RITL are as follows:
- to research innovative ways of implementing technologies to support learning and performance,
- to research the effectiveness emerging technologies to support learning in a variety of contexts (e.g., K12, higher education, lifelong learning, online learning),
- to foster and support interdisciplinary research in the effectiveness and implementation of learning technologies, including the academic disciplines of education, computer science, graphics arts, and psychology.
RITL is co-sponsored by NSF (Grant IIS-0218692 & HRD-0429647), FSU College of Education, and the Learning Systems Institute.
RITL is focused around five major research themes and is co-sponsored by the Learning Systems Institute and the College of Education at Florida State University.
