About

The Center for Research of Innovative Technologies for Learning (RITL) was founded in 2004 by Dr. Amy L. Baylor to facilitate interdisciplinary research in the areas of instructional technology, human-computer interaction, communications, computer science, and psychology.

The primary goals of RITL are as follows:

  1. to research innovative ways of implementing technologies to support learning and performance,
  2. to research the effectiveness emerging technologies to support learning in a variety of contexts (e.g., K12, higher education, lifelong learning, online learning),
  3. to foster and support interdisciplinary research in the effectiveness and implementation of learning technologies, including the academic disciplines of education, computer science, graphics arts, and psychology.

RITL is co-sponsored by NSF (Grant IIS-0218692 & HRD-0429647), FSU College of Education, and the Learning Systems Institute.

RITL is focused around five major research themes and is co-sponsored by the Learning Systems Institute and the College of Education at Florida State University.
