On March 18-20, Chris Nowicki, Hang Wu, and Stanislav Ustymenko attended the
43rd ACM Southeast Conference.
Hang prepared a poster on A Pure Object-Based Domain Model
for Enterprise Systems, and Stan prepared a poster on Ontology-Supported Sharing and Reuse of
Knowledge in Diverse Environments.
The KCRG group attended keynote addresses, paper sessions, tutorials, and panels. The keynote
topics included the following: Challenges of Bioinformatics, Grid Computing for All, Computing
& Information Sciences, and Evolving C++ Within the .NET Platform. The paper sessions
categories included: Compilers, Programming Language and Genetic Programming, Computer Science
Education, Networks, Software Design and Engineering, Database, Distributed Computing and
Real Time Systems, and Security. The tutorials included a Microsoft .NET tutorial, which
introduced the Visual .NET 2005 beta version, and Financial Management of Software Projects.
The panel sessions included Women in Computer Science and Technology.
Many faculty members and students were interested in the poster topics. They asked a lot of
questions regarding KCRG research and software design. Also, the students received helpful advice.
This conference was a good experience. Those who attended from FSU learned a lot and received
the latest information in computer science research and technology.
